Getting hotter: Target lawsuit heatmap

This updated heatmap shows the breakdown by state of the number of suits filed against Target Corp. since the retailer suffered a massive data breach late last year.

According to Advisen data, Minnesota, also the location of Target’s headquarters, has been home to the most filed lawsuits. California is next, with seven lawsuits against the country’s third-largest retailer. Illinois is home to five cases. This is where two banks filed a class-action lawsuit against Target and information security vendor Trustwave, alleging in the retailer was not in compliance with many widely-accepted regulations and standards.
