Giving back to local Communities

The dinner’s proceeds will be utilized by the IICF’s Northeast Division to fund its community grants program. Every year, the IICF’s Northeast Division provides grants to regional charities that champion causes pertaining to education, at-risk children, the environment, and disaster preparedness. A full list of non-profits who will be receiving grants will be announced at the dinner.

Last year, the IICF presented grants totaling $900,000 for 18 non-profits across the Northeastern United States. Over the past seven years, the Northeast Benefit Dinner has enabled the insurance industry to collectively give back over $4.5 million to the community in the New York tri-state area. Collectively, all IICF regions across the US have provided more than $23.5 million in grants and nearly 200,000 volunteer hours since 1994.

A highlight of the evening will be the IICF’s recognition of Munich Re’s philanthropic leadership with the 2014 IICF “Double I” Award– for Influence in the industry and Impact in the community. The award will be accepted by Munich Re America President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Kuczinski.

The benefit dinner will continue the tradition of delivering entertaining and inspirational speakers to the stage. This year’s guest speaker list includes CBS Evening News anchor and 60 Minutes Correspondent Scott Pelley, New York Yankee great and chart-topping guitarist/composer Bernie Williams, Actress Bridget Moynahan and Actor/Director Jeffrey Donovan. These special guests will be accepting grants on behalf of charities they personally support.

Dinner attendees reflect the myriad facets of the insurance industry and include insurance and reinsurance carriers, agents and brokers, industry organizations, professional services providers, and technology providers.
