For the first time, this annual award recognizing industry expertise, innovation, and leadership goes to two recipients
NEW YORK – Jan. 28, 2021 – David De Berry, CEO, and Kenneth De Berry, President of Concord Specialty Risk, have been awarded the 2021 Transaction Insurance Leadership Award, which recognizes outstanding transaction insurance coverage expertise, innovation, leadership, and mentorship in the industry. Advisen’s 2021 Transaction Insurance Insights Conference @ Home Virtual Series Advisory Board selected Dave and Ken as the recipients of this year’s award to recognize them for their numerous contributions to the industry.
Dave and Ken are both pioneers within the transactional risk insurance space. Dave is renowned for creating the buyer-based Representations and Warranties insurance product, along with his expertise in the transactional risk and financial product lines. Ken founded Concord Specialty Risk, a part of Ryan Specialty Group’s RSG Underwriting Managers, and previously spent over 10 years underwriting Representations and Warranties insurance. Prior to forming Concord Specialty Risk, both Dave and Ken held leadership positions in The Hartford’s transactional risk underwriting unit.
Peter Rosen, Mediator and Arbitrator at JAMS, has worked with Dave and Ken for over 13 years, and praised their significant impact on the industry.
“Ken and Dave are market-makers, innovators, incubators, disrupters, and mentors. They were at the forefront of developing and making a market for transactional liability insurance and tax indemnity insurance,” said Rosen. “Ken and Dave regularly brought to the market new concepts and approaches, tested them, and then allowed them to incubate before they became part of their insurance program. Most of all, they mentored and continue to mentor many of their chief competitors’ principals about the market they helped make and why it needs to continue to adapt to the always evolving needs of their M&A clients.”
