David S. De Berry is chief executive of Concord Specialty Risk, a series of RSG Underwriting Managers, LLC, which is a subsidiary of Ryan Specialty, LLC. Concord Specialty Risk provides underwriting and loss mitigation-evaluation services regarding representations & warranties (R&W) insurance, tax insurance, litigation insurance and other contingent liability insurance. Mr. De Berry is an attorney, admitted in both New York and New Jersey. He also has a master’s degree in tax law from New York University.
Rustin Paul – Chief Underwriting Officer – Reps & Warranties Insurance, Concord Specialty Risk
Rustin Paul is the Chief Underwriting Officer of Representations and Warranties Insurance at Concord Specialty Risk. Rustin has underwritten over $2 billion in RWI limits and now leads a team of experienced underwriters and analysts who work with a variety of clients and brokers to evaluate, underwrite and find solutions to even the most complex risks. Prior to joining Concord, Rustin spent 15 years as a corporate M&A attorney at the law firm of Blank Rome, where he began his career and later became a partner. He holds a J.D./M.B.A. from Temple University School of Law.
Bill Kellogg – Vice President – Head of Tax, Concord Specialty Risk
Bill Kellogg is Head of Tax Insurance at Concord Specialty Risk, a pioneer of transactional risk insurance. Bill has underwritten over $1 billion of tax insurance covering a multitude of risks arising from transactions, financings and other events. He is a go-to tax underwriter for large tax insurance programs, recognized by brokers, insureds and their counsel for being commercial, transparent, expedient and client-focused. Since 2008, the Concord team has been known for its approach to insuring complex risks across all transactional risk lines, including representations and warranties, specific and contingent litigation and tax. Ayanna Lewis-Gruss – Vice President – Litigation, Concord Specialty Risk
Ayanna Lewis-Gruss is Vice President & Underwriting Counsel, Litigation Insurance, at Concord Specialty Risk. She has a leading role in Concord’s cutting-edge litigation insurance practice and underwrites specific litigation and contingent risks. Prior to joining Concord, Ms. Lewis-Gruss spent more than eighteen years as a litigator at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. She has experience trying a wide range of complex cases. That experience serves her well in her current role, as she can assess litigation risk with the knowledge of all the twists and turns that can happen in a lawsuit. Ms. Lewis-Gruss holds a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
