ANV hires Allianz exec to expand pro lines in Europe

ANV Underwriters, the international managing general underwriter segment of global specialty insurance group ANV, has appointed Christina Lippert as underwriting manager, Professional Lines, Commercial, Europe.

Based in Barcelona, Christina is responsible for growing the Professional Lines portfolio across Europe and helping to develop ANV Underwriters Financial Lines book in Scandinavia. She will report to Dennis Gattinger, underwriting director, Financial Lines, ANV International MGU.

Christina has worked in Professional Lines for more than two decades and joins ANV from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where she was practice leader for the Scandinavia and CEE region. She has broad experience in growing portfolios in new markets and in developing proactive and alternative solutions to meet market demands.

Gattinger said: “We are pleased to welcome Christina to our team. She brings a wealth of expertise that will help us to grow in Europe where we see significant opportunities in both the large corporate and SME spaces as well as in niche sectors.

“Christina’s Scandinavian language skills and contacts in the Scandinavian market will also support our growth ambitions in that region and underlines our strategy to provide clients and brokers with local solutions in all major European languages,” he added.

Debra McClenahan, managing director of ANV’s MGU business, said: “We have made very good progress in growing the Financial Lines business in the last 12 months. With the arrival of Christina we will be able to broaden our product offerings to brokers and clients. We now underwrite risks in nearly all EU countries and have developed our offering in Latin America and Asia.”
