International insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro Ltd. announced the acquisition of Design Insurance Agency, Inc., a specialist brokerage providing professional liability coverage and risk management services to architects, engineers and other design consultants in private practice.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

New York-based Design Insurance Agency, Inc., founded by Thomas G. Coghlan in 1984, offers professional liability coverage to licensed design professionals, errors & omissions liability coverage to specialty design and construction consultants, and the accompanying lines of property and casualty coverage design firms need to manage their practices.

Coghlan will continue to lead the Design Insurance team and report to Michael Klaschka, co-head of Integro’s Management Risk practice in New York.

“Design Insurance adds a new dimension to Integro’s professional liability practice, giving us the capability of providing world-class service to the design professional community, which services the greater construction industry,” Klaschka said.

Coghlan noted, “Design Insurance’s mission is to be the design professional’s advocate in procuring the liability coverage they require, and to bring risk and practice management resources to design professional practices. We welcome our new association with Integro and the enhanced capability to expand our coverage and risk management services to our valued clients and the design community at large.
