Rocky road ahead for TRIA reauthorization

By Arthur Postal on September 2, 2014

The P&C industry has at most a three-week window in September to push for the advancement of legislation to reauthorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act before the issue is punted to lame-duck session.

Congress will be in session starting Sept. 8 for several weeks before breaking for the mid-term elections, and returns in late November or early December–possibly with many members playing out the remainder of terms before handing offices to successors in January.

TRIA is set to expire at the end of the year.
