The Advisen Claims Satisfaction Survey Report is a hard-copy report approximately 30 pages in length that examines how insureds and brokers view insurance companies via their claims. This report – released in April 2015 is based on a survey of risk managers & insurance buyers and brokers conducted during late December 2014 and early January 2015. Based on these results, this report reviews how insurance companies’ activities associated with claims are viewed. The emphasis of this report is a relative ranking of insurance companies when claims are judged by pay-out, service, speed, etc.
A senior insurance company executive recently commented: “Insurance is the only business that doesn’t know its cost of goods sold when we set a price.” However, from the insured’s perspective, the claims experience is often the first true “sampling of those goods” and that’s after the contracts have been signed. This report will provide a perspective based on prior experiences of other insureds and their brokers about which insurance companies are excelling at achieving a state of satisfaction as regards claims.
